My sweet friend @jtakesonra posted something recently that said “It took me a long time to build up the courage to show you the parts of myself I’m still learning to love” 💕

I mean, wow.

Isn’t that how so many of us in the body positive community feel? Those of us who have been ridiculed and discriminated against because of how we are shaped?
⁣
When I started this journey to self love, I never, EVER, would have posted a picture like this.
⁣
But I have experienced what it is to feel beautiful in my skin. So even though I’m still learning to love every bit of myself, I’m proud of where I am. And you should be too!!

This week I want to focus on AUTHENTICITY and ORIGINALITY and why it makes all the difference on Social Media!

When I first started out, I thought I had to be a certain person in order to gain followers. I tried to mimic other influencers, while still adding my personality to the equation.
⁣
I quickly found that this DID NOT work, because I never felt authentic! I didn’t like what I was sharing and neither was anyone else 🙃
⁣
I decided to share what I actually wanted to share, and say NO to collabs that I wouldn’t actually buy in real life. I started adding my own flair and thoughts to all my captions, and suddenly, my following grew.🍑
⁣
Think about it this way- WHY would anyone want to follow you if what you’re putting out there has been done a million times?
⁣
Now I’m not saying you can’t use ideas you find on Social to inspire you! 💛Focus on adding your own twist and adding your personality to whatever you’re doing, and you’ll find yourself developing your own, original voice.

So go out there and be YOU. Make YOURSELF your NICHE. Find your VOICE and people will find YOU!🌟

This weekend I frolicked around in a sunflower field and it was magical ✨
⠀⠀
But what you don’t see in this photo?
⠀⠀
Driving over an hour to find a field of DEAD sunflowers and trying to find plan B.
⠀⠀
Day 3 of such intense nausea that on the way home, I was shakey and felt like I was gonna yak.
⠀⠀
Stepping in mud and almost losing one of my shoes, having to go barefoot the rest of the night.
⠀⠀
Editing each picture to make sure it perfectly matched my feed.
⠀⠀
Just a reminder that what you see isn’t always what it seems! Comparison kills, so remember that everyone on your Instagram feed has a story behind the photo. Nobody’s life is perfect, and there’s always more to the story ✨
